I don’t tend to tell clients when I am fitting a wig on them but when it comes to showing them how to put the wig on properly, sometimes I give in and tell them and they are usually in shock.  Many have asked to try the same wig which has thought me one very valuable lesson.  Don’t be guided by what suits someone else as wearing a wig well so depends on the size of YOUR head, YOUR  face, YOUR  features and the density and texture of YOUR  own hair. My wig does not suit everyone and theirs do not suit me even though they look fabulous on them.

I would also be not too concerned about the technical differences between wigs when choosing one.   Rather I would be guided by what looks good and makes me feel comfortable and like myself.  I did try a hand-tied wig at the weekend and found it to be a bit lighter on my head but I did not like the style as much so I prefer this one.  I will get that one cut and see if there is truly a difference in feel.  The other one neI’ve also ordered a human hair one for myself but am waiting to get one of the girls to cut it for me.   By the way, I would recommend washing your wig every week or two.  I’ve been very bad, throwing my wig on the counter top when I come in from work and then rummaging to find it the next morning, without hanging it on the stand or using the spray oil.  Well my son has already broken the stand so that is gone but I have started using the spray and find that does work as the wigs tend to get dry after about a week of wearing them.  When your wig begins to feel dry, wash it in the the special shampoo and conditioner as it really does bring them back to life again and give them movement again. I used to say once per month to wash them but now having worn them, I would say once every week or two.  I wear mine all day everyday and that’s how often I feel it needs washing.
